This blog was started on 01 Aug '06, when some ex-students (ecommerce) asked me about how to make money from blogging. So everyday, I will set aside some time from my business to consolidate and create articles.

| FAQ |
Will there be any loss to the visitors that click your ads?
The answer is No. Every click is payable by the providers (e.g. Google, ClickSor) which charges advertisers for a fee to place their products or services via them at your blog.
In another word, the money you receive is in fact from the advertisers and these providers are just middleman that faciliate the service.
So do I click any ads when I am visiting others' blogs?
Why not? If it is something that interests you, a recommended product or services that you find value add, just click it.
The visitors get values from the links, the bloggers get to earn some coins or dollars, the ad providers make a cut also and the advertisers get to have a new potential customer too. Everyone wins! :)

This entry is a consolidation of thoughts and some experiences that I learnt overtime, it is by no mean the official guide on how to write good content or content that can make your blog flys earning big bucks.
There are many good writers that write beautifully with words flying gracefully all over their blogs, expressing themselves in words sitting so nicely in place that it opens up your hearings, sights, feel, touch....blogging is about finding your voice, satisfying yourself in what you wrote and to your audiences that enjoy popping by to read what you have written.
If you can talk, you can think, you can type, you can also express those thoughts into a blog and create content from there onwards. Have fun in what you are doing and tap onto this little opportunity to make some money when your readers click those ads that they see values in.
I have not entirely cover anything on how to make money from blogging, becos blogging can be like a business, setting up a company you need to set a strong foundations first. Set it up with the right people, the right mindset, the correct direction. Blogging is not just about the content itself, it wraps around from the outlook of the headings to sub title, to the fonts, images, the flow on the entries all the way down to the meat of the blog, the content.
On a blog, without a good hosting provider, theme, directions, tools, hacks etc ... you will face problems caught up busy tying loose ends later. I suggest that you go thru those previous posts I put up earlier to have a grasp of what is going to happen, how you want it to happen and try to do a mindmapping before coming over to the content part. All these planning will help you kick start quickly going hand in hand with the content you intend to put in.
Writing on a blog is no different from writing on a diary. The only difference will be why are you writing this blog and what is the objective you hope to achieve now that is placed in the public for anyone with internet access to view them. It is no more keeping it under the pillow or in the drawer but out in the open. This will in fact affects your content too.
Some bloggers blog about their personal lives sharing everything under the sky; their personal problems, relationships, joy, jobs, tears, kids, mistress(es) .. the list goes on. :)
Some of these keep the readers wanting to come back for more to find about 'what's next', to feel for you to some extend. For example, I always visit these few blogs (see BlogRolling on the left of the screen) first going thru them giving my two cents before I start my new post. Why? Cos these blogs are interesting enough that I crave them like an addiction. If your blog can reach that level where readers just cant get enough, great! If you cant or not yet, hey the problem may not be your blog but a wrong reader to your blog. You cant expect to have a blog that everyone loves to read and will always come back, right? If George Bush has one, will you bother to go back daily to read? Not for me for sure.
To keep your blog interesting for your readers to come back often it is important to go for a theme nd then set it on fire with your entries. For example, in my own personal blog 'Work to Live / Live to Work' I blog about stuffs that I see and hear and likes and some dislikes and some complaints too... yeah life is not that rosy so in a personal blog you can stretch it all but wraps around the theme of 'a personal blog'. I posted stuffs like gadgets, new toys, some happening stuffs at work, complaints about some crazy customers, talks about my company's new products, our wedding anniversaries, how we celebrate .. you get the drift, dont you?
Dont crack your head thinking what to write, dont write for the sake of writing. It be tough on you and tough on the readers. Readers are not stupid and neither should you too. Just go for a topic and go for it. If it is interesting, crazy (or sometimes controversy enough), words will spread and you get readers. There is simply no right way to blog just be yourself.
Ok so what's next? This is the tricky part, retaining your readers making them wanting to come back more often.
Sounds bad? hee... actually it is more of giving values to your readers. Values like your readers learning something from reading, some knowledge, some skills even?
For example, in some blogs bloggers share their experience in how to take care of new puppies, how to toilet train their human babies, do beading jewelries ... readers learn a thing or two and maybe for some readers they feel contributing back their own ideas that maybe you can do it better in another way? That is where the 'comments' come in. In blogspot.com, this is build in where almost anyone can give feedback or comments to the entries you made.
This is the part where interaction comes in. Not necessary that it is only between the readers and the bloggers but can be between readers too. Some posts will have readers (whom some of them are also bloggers) commenting and then coming back to see others' responses on theirs. Discussions throw in more opinions, sharing and it gets a life of its own soon.
I am one curious guy that when I gave my comments. I like to see who are those in the earlier posts in the same post that I made my comments and right mouse click to read their blogs too. And if it is something interesting will bookmark it and come back later for more and join in in their own blogs commenting also. If I get to learn something from that particular blog, I will recommend it on my blog just like these few here, here and here and it creates another opportunity for others to view them too.
Still not too sure what to write? I suggest surfing around if you are not sure what settings to go for if you dont have a blog. But if you already have one, hey, blog something that you like and fine tune it overtime. Why fine tune? You may ask.. lets put it this way, if you want to make some money from your blog, the very first thing you need will be to have readers visiting your blog first and not always the same number of readers always, they can only click your ads that many times (and it is illegal to get them to click it constantly too you will get banned especially by Google), so the best will be new readers visiting it and if it happens to have related value added ads placed at your blog that arouse their interests, they may just click it and you get that penny. :)
The math is simple, more people, more chance of clicks. That's all.
----------- Time to go cuddle my wife Izel, it's our 11 yrs 3 mths together....we celebrate every month for the past 11 yrs 3 mths. :)
I will constantly add in more thoughts into this entry as it comes along.
