This blog was started on 01 Aug '06, when some ex-students (ecommerce) asked me about how to make money from blogging. So everyday, I will set aside some time from my business to consolidate and create articles.

| FAQ |
Will there be any loss to the visitors that click your ads?
The answer is No. Every click is payable by the providers (e.g. Google, ClickSor) which charges advertisers for a fee to place their products or services via them at your blog.
In another word, the money you receive is in fact from the advertisers and these providers are just middleman that faciliate the service.
So do I click any ads when I am visiting others' blogs?
Why not? If it is something that interests you, a recommended product or services that you find value add, just click it.
The visitors get values from the links, the bloggers get to earn some coins or dollars, the ad providers make a cut also and the advertisers get to have a new potential customer too. Everyone wins! :)

After you set up your blog, the next thing that you like to know will be to know who are your visitors and the related information associate with these readers. Why is this important? This is so becos these information will be useful for you to make important decisions on how to market your blog, to position it, and what appeals and what's not to do ... etc.
Some free tools come in handy aiding you to check on the stats, who, where, how long and when these visitors are at your blog. You may also want to know where they came from and where they go to from your blog.
There are 3 service of the similar nature, that I like to recommend you:
SiteMeter.com
Site Meter is a free, fast, and easy way to add a web counter to your web page. Not only does it display the number of visitors to your web site, it also keeps statistics on the number of visits each hour and each day.
All you need to do is sign up and then configure the design of your meter and paste the code provided to your blog and it will start tracking your visitors.
So what's the catch? It cant be free, free right? Well, it is free and you can upgrade to a paid version where you can have more control such as displaying an invisible site meter so that your visitors do not see your stats but only you yourself.
Statcounter.com From the site; A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!
I myself is using StatCounter although SiteMeter is more popular. Why? I think it is just a personal preference? I prefer the way StatCounter arranged its flow in the selection of meter's design. It looks more professional also with its cleaner look. Here, similar like SiteMeter, you register an account, create a project (you can have several counters for websites or blogs all free), insert the code and then analyze the stats.
Also you may like to know their latest service, a new feature that lets you view your recent visitors on a Google Map. Aint that cool?
Its paid services are more for those websites with more than 250,000 pageloads per month. With that kind of pageloads, I think it is fair to use its special features and services.
BlogPatrol.com
From the site; BlogPatrol is a FREE blog counter service that answers important questions about who is reading your content. The counter portion of the service provides a visitor counter icon on your website. The site stats portion of the service provides you with traffic reports to keep you up-to-date on every aspect of your web site.
BlogPatrol has this referral service where it also ranks who are the top referrers who are its users and also the ranking of top keywords used. Something different from the 2 I mentioned above.
