FAQ
Will there be any loss to the visitors that click your ads?
The answer is No. Every click is payable by the providers (e.g. Google, ClickSor) which charges advertisers for a fee to place their products or services via them at your blog.

In another word, the money you receive is in fact from the advertisers and these providers are just middleman that faciliate the service.

So do I click any ads when I am visiting others' blogs?
Why not? If it is something that interests you, a recommended product or services that you find value add, just click it.

The visitors get values from the links, the bloggers get to earn some coins or dollars, the ad providers make a cut also and the advertisers get to have a new potential customer too. Everyone wins! :)

Traffic 02 - Generate traffic to your blog Part 01
Tuesday, August 29, 2006
What if ... just what if you have a blog running, you update it everyday, you exchanged links with all your contacts, place your blog address at all your outgoing emails, place them as signatures in all the forums you chat but your counter just dont jump figures at all! Oh no, what should you do?

It may not be that your entries are not interesting enough but more than likely your blog is not known by others YET despite all that you may have done as mentioned above.

Here are a few quick and easy ways to do it.

Go local

First, start it off local. What do I mean? Simply start it off at your turf first, the place where you blog. Say here in Singapore, t
he connection between your readers to what you be writing will be easier to relate to and that, they may just come back often to visit your blog.

But we cant leave it to chance, we have to push forward to create a 'pull'of audiences.
Dont make the mistake of doing a 'hit-and-run' going to all popular blogs to post one or two entry and hope to pull the crowd to your site. It doesnt work this way. Your content need to have sustainable values that will attract others to check it over and over again.

Go google what are the most popular local blog forums, communities, meta blog, blog consolidator etc.

Example
In Singapore, these are the popular ones (wont be able to put all in here since the list will always grow)

Tomorrow.sg
"tries to bring together interesting blog posts and other Internet content about Singapore or by Singaporeans. Think Boing Boing. So
recommend us stuff for us to publish! It can be about current affairs, people, food, shopping, sports, the arts, or other snapshots and snippets of Singaporean life. We prefer posts on things that aren't already being talked about in the mainstream media, and we like seeing new blogs that we've never heard of before."

This is one of the most popular site itself that provides a channel to many other local blogs. You can be one of the contributors to submit interesting articles and if posted, it will also list your nickname there, where other visitors can visit your own blog too. Hang around this site, you will find the people there friendly and knowledgeable too.

Attend their gatherings and introduce yourself too (I myself never attend a single one cos of work.. sigh). With a pleasant personality, I am sure others will visit your blog and spread word of mouths about it too.

Ping.sg
"is a meta blog for Singapore bloggers. It aims to create a comprehensive and thorough database for blog entries written by local bloggers and/or with local interest. ping.sg also aims to create online community for Singapore bloggers to interact and gives every single blogger the same chance to stand out above the rest.

ping comes from the word ping blog or pingback. Here is a simple scenario to illustrate the concept of ping and pong: You blogged an entry. You ping ping.sg. Your entry gets featured on ping.sg. We, readers, pong (read) your entry. Simple as that."

The site explained it the best how you can go about pinging your site here.
The implication is whenever you created a new entry, it will appear at this site where many other bloggers (pingers or just visitors) also visit will just click the link and read yours. Simple huh? :)

You will see this entry being pong too after I submit it later.
