This blog was started on 01 Aug '06, when some ex-students (ecommerce) asked me about how to make money from blogging. So everyday, I will set aside some time from my business to consolidate and create articles.

| FAQ |
Will there be any loss to the visitors that click your ads?
The answer is No. Every click is payable by the providers (e.g. Google, ClickSor) which charges advertisers for a fee to place their products or services via them at your blog.
In another word, the money you receive is in fact from the advertisers and these providers are just middleman that faciliate the service.
So do I click any ads when I am visiting others' blogs?
Why not? If it is something that interests you, a recommended product or services that you find value add, just click it.
The visitors get values from the links, the bloggers get to earn some coins or dollars, the ad providers make a cut also and the advertisers get to have a new potential customer too. Everyone wins! :)

| Article: Get the advertisers! |

Other than affiliate marketing of products or services to get some money thru your blog, what other methods can you use to widen the 'net' to earn more?
Go get companies to place their advertisements at your site directly! Yes, you read it right. There is no rule that you cannot do that.
If you have a good site (with good traffic) that provides added values to the readers, and the type of potential customers that the companies you approached may like, just go talk to them.
Draft out a friendly and approachable email to them and offer to meet up. Include in your email why advertising at your site is a good choice and present in direct to the point why it will make them look good placing their advertisements at your site is the RIGHT choice.
Prepare some simple to understand statistic charts about the kind of traffic and the demographic groups of visitors (some of these information can be obtained from your Counter). Go through a list of companies that you like to target and then put them into the 3 groups, 'Hot', 'Warm', 'Cool' leads. Then do your homework on the 'Hot' group, finding out as much information as you can before you send the first email over.
Remember this email will not be like your email to your friends, do not include those :) :( :0 :P in it. I received some emails from bloggers seeking to advertise for BAK2u, PETBAK and WantToTrade in exchange of some fees or products but they ended the letter with a smiley face. How do you expect an advertiser to take you serious?
Say, you sent out several emails and no replies after like 3 days. Wait a bit longer cos sometimes a lot of mails are sent to them daily. Give a call to the person in charge (this is where you need to do your homework) and asked if they receive your proposal, then follow up from there.
If rejected, well just try again with another company (but dont spam!) but this time find out more why you are rejected in the first place. Company not ready? They dont believe in such form of advertising method? Your blog is just not that popular enough? Your content do not go in line? You approached the wrong company to do your sales talk?
No hard and fast rule but just be honest and sincere in it. If you are a student still studying, this is a good chance to learn from all the mistakes that you are going to make in your sales approach. Learn them and know how not to apply them in the future. Everyone is a salesman.
