This blog was started on 01 Aug '06, when some ex-students (ecommerce) asked me about how to make money from blogging. So everyday, I will set aside some time from my business to consolidate and create articles.

FAQ
Will there be any loss to the visitors that click your ads?
The answer is No. Every click is payable by the providers (e.g. Google, ClickSor) which charges advertisers for a fee to place their products or services via them at your blog.
In another word, the money you receive is in fact from the advertisers and these providers are just middleman that faciliate the service.
So do I click any ads when I am visiting others' blogs?
Why not? If it is something that interests you, a recommended product or services that you find value add, just click it.
The visitors get values from the links, the bloggers get to earn some coins or dollars, the ad providers make a cut also and the advertisers get to have a new potential customer too. Everyone wins! :)

Can you really really make money from blogging?
Wednesday, March 28, 2007
The answer is yes. But the amount will depend largely on the effort and time that you are willing to invest in. You dont expect to put in minimum effort and time to get maximum profit right? The internet may have tools to aid you but that doesnt mean it can replace genuine effort and time into it too. Be real about the expectations.
Effort: The amount of work needed in running a good blog takes more than just writing original content (the emphasis here i your own content), but also the need to consistently decorate your blog repositioning your ads, banners, links and test out what works and what dont. This is a lot a lot of work. Becos if you do not have much marketing experience be it offline or online, you will need to go thru some learning curves.
For example, if you are targeting female readers to purchase your accessories then perhaps a website or a blog with some light pastel colors and designs that blend well with your products than to have something too dark and make your products seem out of place.
Time: You need to spend time to research (not copy from others) in the internet and out of the internet too. Why? If your target customers are say, local then it be best to know what's the trend now. Say, everyone is hype up about WiMax then perhaps instead of writing lotsa articles about Wifi 802.11b (older technology), it be best to push forward your WiMax content earlier than later.
Also, the blog needs to grow and need a lot of time to do so too. Let your blog grow dont rush into it hoping to make it overnite and even think of a steady income to replace your day job salary. It doesnt work this work to most of the people.
Relax and enjoy the process: If just by setting up a blog can make you rich (more than what you can earn on a day job) then you must be dreaming. Be realistic about it. You are bound to make a lot of mistakes along the way, learning from others can only help you to be more alert but that doesnt mean you wont make mistake. Hit the wall a bit, smash onto the ground a bit and you will come out a better blogger. :)
